Wessling, Mary E.
7/18/1943 - 6/29/2024
Mary Wessling passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024. Mary Wessling was born to the late LeRoy and Madonna Schram on July 18, 1943. She had one sister, JoAnn Uhl (Dean); who are both deceased, and her brother Gene (Cheryl) Schram.
Mary spent her life immersed into the Catholic community, which she loved. Mary attended Manilla Community School in Manilla, Iowa where she graduated in 1962. After she graduated, Mary moved to Omaha where she met her husband, Keith Wessling. She married the late, Keith Wessling on January 19, 1966. She was blessed with three loving boys; Sean (Colleen), Mike (Kristin), and Pat (Jodi) Wessling. As a lifelong member of the Catholic community from an early age, she became a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church after moving to Omaha. Mary and Keith loved going bowling, playing cards with friends and dancing. Mary was a dedicated homemaker who raised all three
boys while working various jobs. Family meant everything to her. During the end of her mother’s life, Mary was devoted to helping her until her death.
She was blessed with 6 beautiful grandchildren, whom she adored. Alex, Elizabeth (left this world on March 27, 2004), Brianna, Anna, Caitlin and Nick. She loved spending time with all of them going to games, school functions, lunches and going shopping. The grandchildren made her life come alive again, especially after her husband’s early death. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them.
They all loved her and called her Nana. We know heaven has gained a devoted angel. We know we can’t have you but we’re happy that the angels have you back again and you are with your mom, dad, sister, husband and granddaughter. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and beautiful mother and Nana! We will miss you till we meet again in paradise.
We will hold you within our hearts, and you remain, to walk with us throughout our lives, until we meet again. So, rest in peace our beloved mother, and thanks for all you have done. We pray that God has given you, the crown you have truly won! Love, Sean, Mike & Pat
