On Thursday December 24th, 2021 Mary O’Neill passed away at home at the age of 65 after a very short battle with cancer. Mary was the 9th of 17 children born in Omaha to James F and Lorraine G. O’Neill. She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, Dennis, Kevin, Richard, Larry; and 2 sisters: Francine and Irene. She is survived by her daughter Patricia, her Irish Wolfhound Jack, several whippets, her siblings: Georgiann (Jim), Michael (Francine), Tim, Caroline (Chuck), Becky, Jimmy (Danna), Ronnie (Ember), Betty (Jim), Geri (Randy), Patrick, numerous nieces and nephews, and wonderful friends. Mary had a passion for sighthounds that she shared with her daughter. She bred and raised numerous champion Irish Wolfhounds and Whippets. She enjoyed traveling across the country with them to dog shows and lure coursing events. She also loved gardening and spending time outdoors at her country home. She was known for her selfless generosity, and kind and compassionate spirit. She was much loved and will be deeply missed. At her request a celebration of life will be planned for the Spring of 2022.
