On the morning of October 7, 2021, Mary Ann Hoer died peacefully at home surrounded by her family at the age of 89. Mary Ann was born in Farwell, Nebraska to Kasmir and Elizabeth Jankiewicz. In April of 1958, she married Francis (Fritz) Hoer, and together they raised 5 children, Martin, John, Sam, Kathy, and Bob. Mary Ann was an avid antique and doll collector and you could always find her at a garage or estate sale. She loved polka music and dancing.She loved using her addressograph and doing bookkeeping. She was an avid baker and cook. She enjoyed watching her game shows and playing cards. She was known for her one-liners and being stubborn, all while caring for and loving her family and friends with a heart of gold.Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband Francis (Fritz) Hoer, sister Dorothy Schmaderer, and sister-in-law Joyce Jankiewicz. She is survived by her brother Raymond Jankiewicz and sisters, Genevieve (Jenny) Jankiewicz, Veronica (Roni) Jankiewicz and brother-in-law Maurice Schmaderer. As well as her 5 children, Martin (Tricia) Hoer, John (Helen) Hoer, Sam (Debbie) Hoer, Kathy (Jeffrey) Dolezal, & Bob (Heather) Hoer and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary Ann has 11 grandchildren, David (Sarah) Hoer, Jessica (Brett) Petchenick, Ashley Hoer (Pat Hearity), Caitlin Hoer (Kevin Roberts), Ian Hoer, Stephanie Dolezal (Clayton Keating), Shane Hoer, Samantha Hoer, Jennifer Hoer, Danielle Hoer, & Nathan Hoer, plus 4 great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. A public visitation is on October 15th, 2021 at 10 am followed by the memorial service at 11:00 am at the Braman Mortuary on 72nd St. with a luncheon to follow at Florence City Hall at 12 pm.
