She attended nursing school in Christchurch, New Zealand and graduated 27 Feb 1953. While at nursing schoolshe met Tim Ruthven, who was a civil engineer soldier at the time. Marjorie married Tim, 14 June 1952. She had 6 children and tons of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Immigrated to the United States in the 1970’s. Traveled to all corners of the world sharing Gods love. Resided in Georgia, Colorado, Texas, Alabama and Nebraska. Tim and Marjorie created a life based on their love of God and ministered to folks all over the world. Spreading the love of God and the practice of creating a quiet time, each morning so that you could be still to hear Gods voice. Tim passed 7 Dec 2007. Aaron, one of Marjorie’s grandsons described her this way. She was a true example of a life in faith. She had an infectious smile and a laugh that wouldn’t stop once it started. She managed to be cheeky and proper at the same time. She taught us manners, and an appreciation for where we came from, and how to laugh through pretty much any circumstance no matter how dire. She fed our dreams of travel and to this day I’ve never tasted a better potato leek soup than hers. So many owe their faith, their adventurous spirit, and so much more to this amazing woman.
