Marilyn Lee Stenger

Marilyn Lee (Hartman) Stenger was born on May 3, 1944, in Omaha NE. She graduated from Marian High School in 1963. Her parents are the late William and Teresa Hartman. Marilyn married Richard Stenger on April 4th 1964 at St. Pius X Church in Omaha, NE. They are the parents of 6 children: Dean & Wife Michelle, Deanna Beal & Husband Scott, Jim and Wife Cher, Deb Pietryga & Husband Dan, Joel and Wife Jessica, Jeanna Pine & Husband Tashone. They have 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren: Dean’s children – Chase, Dylan+ & Cassidy, Deanna’s children – Austin, Raiden (great grandchild), Blayd (Nadria), Brock (Alyssa), Titan & Jayna, Jim’s children – Bryce (Lindsey), Tatum (Taylor) Barrett & Benjamin (great grandchildren), Zane & Gage, Deb’s children- Drake & Delanie, Joel’s children – Spencer (Melissa), Blake & Taylor, Jeanna’s children – Alexa, Aliyah, Treyvn & Saige. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Stenger, parents William & Teresa Hartman, Grandson Dylan Stenger, Sibling: Marge Higley, Brother-in-law Bob Higley.

Marilyn was generous to her family and community in many ways. Over the years she opened her home to numerous foster children, foreign exchanged students, kid’s sports teams, friends and anyone who tagged along. In 1979 they purchased their acreage on 184th & Q in Omaha, NE. The acreage included a barn, horses, swimming pool, volleyball court, basketball court, baseball diamond and pickleball court. She hosted many picnics, family gatherings and community activities that included bonfires, hayrack rides, fireworks, annual cookie baking, weekly dominos, and endless hours of swimming. She also enjoyed other activities such as bowling, shopping, getting her nails done and great conversations over lunch and dinners out.
Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren hold fond memories of family vacations to places such as Mexico, Okoboji, Florida, Ozarks, and the Dominica Republic.

VISITATION: Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 5-7:00 PM, with SHARING OF MEMORIES at 6:30pm, All at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel)

FUNERAL MASS: Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 10:30am at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church (16701 S St,)

INTERMENT: Mt. Auburn Cemetery
