Marie Jackson

September 16, 1945 — January 9, 2022

JACKSON, Marie 9/16/1945 - 1/9/2022 Eva “Marie” Jackson at the age of 76 passed away the morning of January 9th, 2022.Per her wishes, she died in her own bed in the home she and John H. Jackson (deceased) made their castle and raised two surviving daughters, Jody Lynn Johnson and Gena Rana Dushan. She was born in Maryville, MO. on September 16,1945.She met her prince, John H. Jackson, on a blind date and they married soon after on July 29, 1967. Marie loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious butter laden yummy comfort food for her family and friends. She was incredibly creative and enjoyed painting ceramics and created life-like porcelain dolls of each grandchild. She was a skilled gardener and created an oasis in her own back yard. She was always ready and willing to volunteer her time and had a “Get ‘er done” tenacity and grit that was infectious. Marie’s grandchildren, Sydney, Jordyn, Madison and Parker were her world, and she was their favorite playmate always at the ready to play “hide the thimble”, splash in puddles or do anything ridiculously messy and muddy which would be followed up with a bubble bath! There was always something new to discover along the ‘Grandchildren’s Path’ that she and our dad created in their garden when they were all younger.Grandma Marie attended every sporting event and was their biggest cheerleader in the stands. That same fun-loving, always willing and able playfulness continued when Sydney had Boston Goodwin, Marie’s first great-grandchild. Marie’s love for children prompted her to become an OPS Special Needs Bus Aide for many years until she retired at the age of 70.She took pride in her work as a Bus Aide and made quick friends with her bus drivers. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Marie and she will be greatly missed.
