Margaret Louise White

Margaret passed away at the Hospice House in Omaha, NE due to kidney failure. She was born near Comstock, NE to the late Anton and Ruth (Bartholomew) Tvrdik. She attended Ord High School where she graduated early and earned her teaching certificate. She married Jack White on April 11, 1952 and they had two children, Kenneth and Carol. They made their home in Omaha, NE. Before her retirement in the 80’s, Margaret taught in a one-room school house, ground optical lenses, owned a photography business with her husband, worked for the Naval Reserve,the Corp of Engineers and retired from Epson Hilmer Graphics. Margaret volunteered at the Douglas County Historical Society and was an avid genealogist. She loved finding new relatives and introducing them to their line of cousins. For the past several years, she ate her breakfast at the computer while she read her daily quota of online newspapers and political blogs. Margaret was the driving force behind 35 years of annual family reunions. She enjoyed them all and did not regret the effort involved, even in her last years when the drive to central Nebraska proved challenging. Margaret had a genuine interest in everyone she met and quietly touched many people over her lifetime. She will be very much missed by all. Preceded in death by husband Jack A. White, Parents Anton & Ruth Tvrdik and Sister Eleanor Tvrdik. She is survived by her Son Ken White & wife Christine; Daughter Carol White; The Durham and Bartholomew cousins and many friends.
