Langfeldt, Luann M.
January 12, 1946 – February 6, 2024
Luann Langfeldt was born January 12, 1946 in Sioux City, Iowa, to Lawrence and Hilda Christensen. She passed away on February 6, 2024 at the age of 78. She passed while sleeping peacefully at home. Luann was the youngest of four children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jim Christensen, a sister-in-law, Marlene Christensen, a sister, Marilyn Soper, and a brother-in-law, Alan Soper. She also had an infant brother who died at birth. Luann is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas Langfeldt, a son, Kevin Langfeldt (Melvina), a daughter, Trisha Anderson (Rick), seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Luann lost her father at a young age. Her mother moved her and her siblings from Iowa to Nebraska after his passing. In a just a few years, Luann met and married the love of her life, Thomas Langfeldt. Tom and Luann had two children and raised them in Omaha.
Upon their retirement, Tom and Luann became snowbirds. They bought a home in Brownsville, Texas on the resaca (waterway of the Rio Grande). They enjoyed living there for 8 months of the year (October – June). They returned to Omaha each June to spend summers with their children and grandchildren. Tom and Luann also traveled back to Omaha, without fail, every Christmas. After Christmas, they would pack up and travel back to Texas, where they stayed until the spring thaw.
They were members of a campground near Ashland, Nebraska, and enjoyed staying there for the summer months.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11:00am at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel), with a luncheon to follow the service.
