Lorraine Kay Jordan Hogan

September 16, 1957 — September 9, 2023

Lorraine Kay Jordan Hogan was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandma, and Mama Lo. She was born on September 16, 1957, to parents Chester Jordan and Evelena Harrison Jordan. Lorraine was the second born of five children.

At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined the Salem Baptist Church where she was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. J. C. Wade, Sr. She served in the Sunday School Choir, Youth Choir, and the Grammy-nominated Inspiration Choir. Lorraine was a life-long member of Salem Baptist Church.

Lorraine attended Omaha Public Schools, and graduated from Omaha North High School in 1975. She then attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Lorraine worked for several companies in the Omaha area spanning 50 years including Physicians Mutual, Cintas Uniform Services, and Fontenelle Elementary School as a front desk receptionist and paraprofessional.

Lorraine and former spouse, Flournoy Hogan III, were blessed with two sons, Flournoy L. Hogan IV, and Tromaine L. Hogan.

Lorraine was talented in art, and had barber skills. She knew her way around cars, a skill she probably acquired from caring for other people. Though dainty in appearance, her sons called her a “Tom Boy,” as their mom could fix a car just by being told the sound. She was an amazing cook. Lorraine brought comedy to the family and had a very charismatic, outgoing personality. She was full of life, honest with a great heart, and very matter of fact. She cared for many and was always willing to help in any capacity that she could.

She leaves to cherish her memory sons, Flournoy “Buddy” (Dara) Hogan, IV, and Tromaine Hogan; Zhontil Jordan, who she raised as a son; stepdaughter, LaTresha “Binky” Rideout; one grandson, Greyson Hogan; mother, Evelena Jordan; two sisters, Sandra Jordan and Sherry Jordan (Kansas); two brothers, Larry Jordan, Sr., and Eric (Doriette) Jordan Sr.; nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, goddaughters, one great-aunt, and a host of family and friends who love her.
