Served during WWII with the U.S. Army in Saipan. He was a longtime volunteer baseball coach at Bellevue University for over 35 years, for which he received a lifetime achievement award. Preceded in death by: Parents, Homer & Lola; Brothers, Bill & John; Sisters, Helene Andrews & Anne Waldeck; Survived by: Sisters: Lillian Thieman, Omaha, Sue (Max) Turnquist, Gothenberg; Brother, Herb (Imo) Lurvey, Bennington; Many nieces & nephews.
