Linda K. Swanson, age 71, passed away January 15th, 2022. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska, to Kenneth and Evelyn Harmon on May 10th, 1950. She married Scott Swanson on May 28th, 1977, and together they raised two children. Linda was an educated woman with a Bachelor's degree in education. She loved children and spent most of her teaching career working with behaviorally impaired, and special needs children. Linda also loved to serve her church family at Christ Community Church by singing in the choir, decorating for Christmas and Easter; doing set dressing and make-up for the numerous Christmas and Easter musicals the church used to put on every year, and countless other tasks she would take on to help serve for her Lord and Savior. She was also a liver transplant survivor. She loved to go every Christmas up to the transplant floor at UNMC to hand out devotionals that helped her through that difficult time while also writing words of encouragement to all those on the transplant floor. She was an amazing wife who supported, encouraged, and loved her husband of 45 years, a mother who loved on and always bragged about her two sons, and a grandmother who looked for any way to spoil, love on, and teach her grandchildren about the love of Jesus and the importance of having a personal relationship with Him. Linda K. Swanson was an amazing example of who Christ is. She made time for those who needed an ear to listen, a person to hold during difficult times, or a helping hand when a task would seem overwhelming. Linda would want everyone who reads this to know, there is no better time than now to invite Jesus Christ into your life and let Him be your Lord and Savior! Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Evelyn Harmon, her brother, Gary Harmon, and her daughter, Rachelle Swanson. She leaves behind her husband, Scott Swanson, her two sons and their wives, Chad and Stephanie Swanson, and Nicholas and Erinn Swanson, and her four grandchildren, Kaia Swanson, Archer Swanson, Fletcher Swanson and Spencer Swanson. She is also survived by her sister, Barb Hendricksen, and brother, Dave Harmon. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 22nd, 2022, with visitation starting at 10:00 am, both at Christ Community Church in Omaha, Nebraska.
