Linda was born on 08/20/46 and passed away at home with husband David Gronwall at her side on 08/23/2022. She was preceded in death by her Father Stanley D Purvis, Mother Helen Nemitz and Aunt Marsha Green.
Linda was born in Kansas City, MO and moved at a young age to Pacific Palisades, CA where she went to school and developed a lifelong love of the ocean. During her senior year she moved to Pittsburg, PA and attended Point Park College. Missing the ocean, she moved to Ft Lauderdale Florida and was employed in the Banking Industry for many years. Linda moved to Minnesota in 1991 just in time for the famous Halloween Storm and 3 feet of snow as a welcome. She resumed her banking career and ultimately became the Manager of the Pre-fund Mortgage Fraud Dept at Wells Fargo. In 1998 Linda married David Gronwall and switched careers becoming a multiple store owner/franchisee with Great Clips Hair Salons in Omaha, NE. She loved the salons and was active for 14 years until her death.
Linda was soft spoken but very strong. Most will remember her for the kindness she showed towards everyone. Her fight with cancer lasted 8 years with a wonderful 5 year period of remission. Her strength, compassion and optimism showed during her health issues. You would rarely hear Linda complain and she always saw the best side in all people.
Linda is survived by her loving husband David Gronwall, Step-son David Gronwall Jr, Sister Tina Nemitz, Brother Ron Leicht, Nieces Sandra Jost, Samantha and Kimberly Leicht.
GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 4-6:00pm at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel)
A memorial service in the Minneapolis, MN area will take place at a later date.
