Linda Lou Anderson passed away on February 23, 2024 at the age of 84 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Linda was born on February 11, 1940 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She went to Central High School where she met the love of her life, Gaylord “Andy” Anderson, at a roller-skating rink. It was love at first sight.
After high school, Linda moved to Virginia to be with Andy while he was enlisted in the Navy and they married on March 7, 1959. They had 3 children and had celebrated 63 years together.
Upon return to Wisconsin, they lived in Waukesha, Peawaukee, and Heartland, before moving to Austin, Minnesota. During this time, Linda was a devoted mother and housewife. Keeping her home tidy and functional was always very important to her, so upon their move to Fremont, Nebraska, she began working in housekeeping at various businesses.
They relocated to Uehling, Nebraska where they opened Andy’s Corner Bar. Linda worked at the bar and restaurant in many roles including cooking, serving, and treating each patron like family. Once they were in Omaha, Linda started her own cleaning business which she enjoyed for more than 25 years.
A lover of garage sales, Linda loved spending her days hunting down a great deal and spoiling her children and grandchildren with her finds. As an avid dog-lover, her shih-tzus always had the most toys and treats. Above all, her greatest joy in life was taking care of her loved ones.
Linda is survived by her children: David (Sherri) Anderson, Debbie (Darrell) Uttecht, Dennis (Michele) Anderson; grandchildren: Daniel Uttecht, Caitlin (Adam) Schmit, Delynn Uttecht (Morgan Rauker), Carter (Brittany) Anderson; and great-grandchildren: Hallie Schmit, Harper Anderson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Andy Anderson, her parents, Ben and Linda Iverson, and her three siblings.
She was a lively and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who will be fondly remembered for her ice cream sundaes, her affinity for Westerns, a cold Scotch and Seven, and bologna sandwiches made from the heart.
Linda will be honored in a celebration of life on February 28, 2024. Visiting hours are from 5-7pm at Braman Mortuary in Omaha, Nebraska. Internment will be at Omaha National Cemetery following a private ceremony.
Memorial donations should be directed to Hillcrest Hospice.
