Leola (Dear) McCain was born on October 20, 1930 in McNab, Arkansas to her parents Mable Block Staggers and B.B. Staggers.She was educated in the Arkansas School system.Leola accepted Christ at an early age. In 1952, Leola married Hayward McCain. In 1953, they relocated to Omaha, NE. Six children were born to this union:Lareta, Johnny Ray, Cecil, Sherman, Herman, and Ronald.Leola was a faithful member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. She served as treasurer and deaconess for many years. When she moved to the Fontenelle Nursing Home, she continued to worship and praise God at Ebenezer Baptist Church as well as attending services at Fontenelle Nursing Home. Leola worked at Loziers and Tiptop for more than 30 years.Leola loved to garden.She planted flowers everywhere.She was a fabulous cook.Her favorite desserts to make were German chocolate cake, banana pudding, and sweet potato pies.Leola’s favorite exercise was walking.She would go walking every day!But her all-time favorite thing to do was to shop for clothes and shoes!!She loved a great sale and a good bargain. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Hayward and her daughter, Lareta, and her stepson Eddie, her parents Mable and B.B. Staggers, and her siblings:Jewell, Mattie, Royal, Raymond, Jean, Evonne, and Freddie Lee. Leola departed this life on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 in Omaha, NE.She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories her siblings: Coyal Staggers of Chicago, Charles(Chris) Staggers of Chicago, and sister, Ermarie (M.H.) Forte of Los Angeles; her sons: Johnny Ray (Michelle) of Omaha, Cecil (Sherrie) of Houston, TX, Sherman (Pat) of Omaha, Herman of Omaha, Ronald (Teresa) of Omaha, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
