ELKINS-CROCKETT, Laura 2/16/1968 – 6/27/2019 Age 51 years of Omaha She was preceded in death by mother Kay Rosenthal; Laura is survived by her Husband Greg Crockett; Son Keegan (Megan) Elkins; Grandson Kayden Elkins; Siblings: Ada Lynn Bagby, Scott (Jody) Elkins, Christy (Husein) Elmasri. Barneston, Nebraska was where Laura spent her early childhood and was known for her infectious laughter by her friends Later, as a single parent determined to make a better life for her and her son, went back to school, graduating from Metropolitan Community College with an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. Laura walked to classes each day as she did not have a vehicle to drive. That determination was a defining characteristic of Laura. She began her career as a Graphic Designer at American Games in Council Bluffs, Iowa getting her job by telling them that she was proficient in a design program she had never used. She immediately purchased a book and learned how function in the program before starting the job. Her next position was with the Omaha World Herald newspaper where she numerous awards for her graphic designs. During her time at the newspaper, Laura began freelancing her art prowess eventually forming her company; Dream by Dezign. In December 2009, Laura married Greg Crockett and began a new life. About 2013, Laura began a career at PayPal where she received various performance enhancements and brought many ideas that were instituted . Her life cut short, along with her immediate family, she leaves behind many relatives and friends who miss her greatly, including: Nieces: Bobbi Jo, Brittany, Brandie, Stephanie & Nadia Nephews: Michael & Tyler Father & Mother in Law: Mark & Sharlene Crockett Brother in Laws and families: Jeramie, Jamie Crockett (children Mannix & Aleah) John-Wesley, Rebecca Crockett (children Zaccheus & Grace) Celebration of Laura’s Life: Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11:00am, with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service, all at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel).
