Kevin O’Reilly, age 66, passed away in his home on January 13, 2019. Kevin was born in Julesburg, Colorado to Jerome O’Reilly and Marjorie Hothan O’Reilly. Preceded in death include his parents and three brothers--Shaun, Timothy, and Terrence.Kevin completed his high school years at Benson High School in Omaha, Nebraska.He was active in wrestling.After high school, Kevin joined the Navy.His naval career took him to Vietnam where he served as a Chief Radioman from 1973 to 1975.Later, he continued his service with the Navy through the Navy Reserves for over twenty years. Kevin was a hard worker and very devoted to his work. He spent many years and long hours at Streck Laboratories. Kevin loved science, astronomy, and people. His outgoing personality made him a natural fit for the sales and customer services positions.In 2007, Kevin was diagnosed with cancer. Kevin chose life and decided to fight cancer by having his voice box removed.Kevin stayed strong and continued to work as long as he could by answering emails for CenturyLink’s customer service department. Kevin had a passion for life.He and his family were a close-knit group who loved to celebrate life.Kevin had a sense of humor and possessed an Irish be happy attitude. They enjoyed cars and watching race car events.Kevin was an avid golfer during his younger years. Kevin, your sense of humor and presence will be missed. A Memorial service will be held at the Omaha National Cemetary located at 14250 Schram Road Omaha, NE 68138 on June 14th at 9 am.
