Kathryn R. Stinnett

February 11, 1948 — December 30, 2023

Kathryn Rau Stinnett was born in Murdock, NE on February 11, 1948. She was the eldest of two children born to Jessie Erickson Rau and Donald Rau. She and her family moved to Omaha after her father passed away in 1952. Kathy grew up in South Omaha and graduated from Omaha Central in 1966. She married David Stinnett in October 1971 and they had three children, Rebeca, Sara and Jarrod. Kathy was an incredibly devoted mother. She sacrificed everything for the ones she loved. She filled days with love and joy. Holidays and birthdays were especially wonderful. She had a remarkable way of making people feel loved and important. She volunteered endlessly with her church, was a Girl Scout leader for many years, loved attending Bible Studies and singing in the church choir, bell choir, and praise band. She worked at Brown’s Medical Supply, Millard West High School, Baker’s, and for almost 20 years as the Administrative Assistant for Concordia Schools. Kathy loved laughing, dancing, singing, sewing, and football but her biggest love was her family. She was blessed with eight grandchildren. She loved being a grandmother and talked about her “darlings” endlessly. A car accident in September 2017 created challenges and altered her lifestyle in many ways but Kathy fought hard and never complained no matter how discouraging the news. The last year and a half were particularly challenging but Kathy faced this with the same positivity and devoted faith with which she has faced every challenge in her life. She continued to smile and share love with all of those around her. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Donald Rau, and mother, Jessie Rau. She leaves
behind her children, Rebeca Stinnett Soppe (Allyn) Jessica, Elliot, and Charles; Sara Stinnett Maxon (Christopher), Oscar, Grant; and Jarrod Stinnett (Amber Ward), Rex, Ella, and Mae;
brother, Rusty Rau (Karen), many nieces and nephews cousins and dear friends and family. She leaves a legacy of love, laughter and trust in the Lord. Heaven rejoices she is home, but
she will be forever missed this side of Heaven.
