AKSENTOWITZ, Kathleen A. 11/3/1926 - 2/8/2021 Born in Shickley, NE, Kathy grew up on a farm where her love for cooking began. This likely shaped her into the wonderful cook she became. At the age of 17, she started her career as a school teacher in a one room schoolhouse. After marrying, she stayed home and raised children. A maker from the start, Kathy was always crafting and creating, from sewing to stained glass, much of her work could be seen around her and her families’ houses. Later in life, Kathy and her late husband, John, made many fond memories in Arizona, where they wintered for 28 years. While escaping the Nebraska cold, they could be found playing games with friends, socializing and spending time with family. Kathy is preceded in death by husband, John, in 2013; parents, Joseph and Hattie (Volkmer) Kamler; grandson, Daniel; brothers, Linus, Cletus and his wife Rose; sister Jeanine and her husband, Marlin. She is survived by daughter, Rhonda Paulsen (Dean); sons, Larry Aksentowitz, Joe Aksentowitz (Lori Winter); grandchildren, Laurie, Deron, Jill, Martin, Ryan, Katheryn; sister-in-law, Frances Kamler; and 10 great grandchildren. A private celebration of Kathleen's life will be held Tuesday, February 16 at 11 am at Braman Mortuary Southwest Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
