Karen F. Kolb, 75, peacefully passed on to eternal life Aug. 5, 2021 in Omaha, at Omaha, Neb.’s Josie Harper Hospice House. She was ready to “go home”, and shared that faith and joy with many. Her sister Nancy and brother-in-law Steve were at her side as she gently slipped away. Karen was raised in New Ulm, Minnesota and after graduating high school attended St. Olaf College and the Minnesota School of Business. She worked as a legal secretary and other office jobs in St. Paul and New Ulm. In the 1980’s she and her parents relocated to Omaha to be near Nancy’s family. Robert and Violet Kolb preceded her in death in the 1990’s. Besides caring for them, she worked as a medical credentialist, and devoted much time to her nieces Katie and Kari, and grand-nephews Joshua and Ben. Karen was loved by many neighbors and admired for her gardening skills and wildlife attraction. She enjoyed many mountain vacations in Colorado and the outdoors in general, having grown up hiking along the Cottonwood River. A private memorial will be held in Omaha, with later neighborhood reception.
