HERRERA, Kara L. 6/26/1972 - 10/7/2021 Kara Lynne Herrera went home to Jesus on October 7th, 2021 at age 49. Kara was born to Leif and Dorothy Skomedal on June 26th, 1972 in Omaha, NE. Kara met her husband, Michael Herrera October 6th, 1990 in Omaha, NE. They married February 29th, 1992 and went on to have 3 children, Tabitha, Cheyenne and Nathan. Kara loved her family deeply and celebrated her Norweigan heritage as passionately as she did Christmas. Her greatest gift was making others smile and feel included. She shared her lifelong dedication to her faith in God with all who surrounded her. Kara joins her parents Leif and Dorothy Skomedal, and brother Brian Skomedal in heaven. She is survived by her husband Michael, children Tabitha(w/BJ), Cheyenne(w/Silas), and Nathan(w/Lily), sisters Brenda, and Christina, brothers Randolph, and John and her granddaughter Ella(1). Services will be held at Bethel Christian Ministries, 3702 Giles Rd. Bellevue, NE 68147. Visitiation is scheduled for October 14th from 5p-8p. Funeral will be held on October 15th at 10am, followed by a luncheon.
