Justin Lee Mcnett

Justin Lee McNett of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019, at the age of 38. He was born January 11, 1981, to Robert and Julie (Mayo) McNett in Cozad, Nebraska. He grew up in Cozad and graduated valedictorian of the Class of 1999. Justin earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Hastings College; and his Master’s Degree in Information Security Management from Jones International University. As a young boy he was active in Cub Scouts and loved to play baseball. He took lessons and learned to play the guitar and later enjoyed playing his bass guitar. Justin was active in his youth group at church and enjoyed many trips with them. He toured and sang with the New Way Singers from Nebraska Christian College for four years. This was where he met the love of his life, Jessica Neuhold. On January 17, 2004, Justin and Jessica were united in marriage in Lamar, Colorado. They began their married life in North Platte, Nebraska where Justin worked in the IT department for the City of North Platte.In 2006 they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Lorelai Kaylee. In 2007 the family moved to Omaha where Justin began working for CSG. In 2008 their family was complete with the birth of their second beautiful daughter, Kelti Lorraine.Justin was a very loving, devoted husband and father. His family was his life. He enjoyed playing with his girls, taking them golfing, and attending all of their Girl Scout and school events. He even gave up his parking spot in the garage so they could be a “cookie cupboard” for the Girl Scouts. Justin worked for the John Day Company, World View and was currently employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska.He enjoyed watching college football, especially Kansas State, and golfing with his friends from John Day. Justin is survived by his loving wife Jessica, daughters Lorelai and Kelti all of Omaha; his mother Julie McNett and special friend Dan Gruntorad of Cozad, NE; brother Joseph (Anna) McNett and niece Olivia of Plattsmouth, NE; father-in-law Henry Neuhold of Lamar, CO; brother-in-law Ben Neuhold of Roanoke, VA; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Robert in 2015, and his mother-in-law Cindy in 2018. Celebration of life services will be Thursday, December 19th, 10:30 a.m. at Kingsway Christian Church in Omaha, NE. Braman Funeral Home is helping with arrangements.
