Judy was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Floyd C and Dolores M Thornburg on July 21, 1959. She was the youngest of three sisters. She married Gerald Murcek on January 2, 1988. They had two children Victoria and Gerald Murcek JR.
Judy graduated Westside High School in May 1977. She went on to obtain her Associate's Degree from Nebraska College of Business and her Bachelor's from Bellevue University.
After graduating in 2007, she was employed with the Department of Justice for 20+ years as a Paralegal.
Judy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family. Especially when Bud Light was involved.
Judy was proceeded in death by her parents, Floyd C and Dolores M Thornburg, nephews Michael D Buechler, Jordan C Armstrong, Jamie J Kobylasz, and grandmother Margaret B Trout.
Judy is survived by her children, Victoria (Devin) Smith and Gerald Murcek Jr. Her sisters Kathy (Dan) Proffitt and Debbie (Doug) Kobylasz, 11 grandchildren Summer, Talan, Nevaeh, Landon, Braxton, Kaynen, Triniti, Jayce, Greyson, Karter, and Layla. Nephew Rob (Jill) Kobylasz, niece Diane (Ben) Proffitt, Melissa Kobylasz many great nephews and nieces, as well as other relatives, friends and co-workers.
CELEBRATION OF JUDY’S LIFE: Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 11:00am at Braman Mortuary (Millard Chapel). Luncheon to follow celebration.
