Judith A. Monaco September 16, 1939 - March 5, 2020 Judith A. Monaco, 80, of Fort Myers, FL passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020. Judy is survived by her children Karen Hoyt & her husband John; Stephen Saltzman and his wife Ana; Lori Smith & her husband Robert; Cheri Morris & her partner Nathan Jelinek; siblings Richard Milligan; Jeanette LaRoche and her husband Bob; and James Milligan; stepchildren Carol Monaco & her husband Jim Reisert, Jack Monaco & Mark Monaco; grandchildren Sarah & Brad Hoyt; Lily, Sam, Katie and Joe Saltzman; Chloe Smith; Chelsea and Austin Mayer, and Connor Morris; and many nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 34 years, John J. Monaco (d. 2016). Judy, the eldest child of the late James D. & Dorothy H. Milligan, and niece of the late Edith B. Pease, was born & raised in in Somerville, MA, in part, by her late grandmother Blanche M. Pease. In her adult years, she resided in MA towns of Burlington, Bedford, Chelmsford, and then Nashua, NH before moving to Fort Myers Beach, FL in 2006. In 2018, she moved to Omaha, NE, under the supervised care of her loving daughter, Cheri. Judy married Leonard Saltzman in 1959, raising their four children by serving yummy, healthy meals with a side of sarcasm. Judy also managed the family home improvement business. She married John Monaco in 1982 in Bedford, MA; ultimately retiring with him to the beach, a life-long dream. Judy enjoyed family vacations on Cape Cod with her parents, siblings, children, nieces & nephews, as well as shell collecting, ceramics and gardening. She was employed part time by The Lexington Minuteman, Filene's Basement(Burlington) & Davidson's Pharmacy (Bedford). An intimate, family funeral is being planned in Fort Myers later this year.
