TOLBERT, Josephine 2/12/1928 – 12/27/2019 Josephine Tolbert was born February 12, 1928 in Cairo, IL. to Hampton and Perline Phillips. Josephine obtained her education from the Cairo public school system. While living in Cairo she met Eugene Tolbert Sr. and they married in 1952. From this union nine children were born. While growing up in Cairo, Josephine attended church and was baptized at an early age. In 1964 Josephine, Eugene and the entire family moved to Omaha NE. Josephine was a long time employee and retired from the Omaha Veterans Hospital. The Lord called Josephine home on December 27, 2019. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, daughter Annie Mae, father Hampton, mother Perline, brother Leonard, brother Milton, brother Edward, brother Lonnie, brother Carnell, sister Evelynsister Mary Benson (Deuce) and grandson Doyle III. Josephine leaves to cherish; Eugene Tolbert Jr. (Lani) CA, Mary Sullivan (Robert) SC, James Tolbert, Charles Tolbert (Deborah), Hampton Tolbert, Sandra Tolbert, Howard Tolbert and Lisa Tolbert.Sister-in-law Barbara Phillips and special friend Helen Martin, 30 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.A host of relatives nieces nephews and friends.
