TIESI, Joseph M. “Joe” 11/1/1928 – 3/18/2019 Joe was born in Binghamton, New York on November 1, 1928. He grew up with a loving Italian family. His his mother was an amazing cook and his dad had a large vegetable garden and made wine from grapes in their yard. He went into the army post World War II and was stationed in Berlin, Germany and traveled around Europe. During his travels he was able to visit his grandmother and others in his family who were still in Italy.He enjoyed playing baseball in the army, and once home he played for Link Aviation soft ball team. His favorite position was short stop. Joe started his career with Link Aviation and during this time he met Anna Karas during a blind date on Halloween night. We all know this lead to a very happy sixty-two years of marriage and two boys. Joe continued his love of baseball along with great pride in the cars he owned over the years. When it comes to baseball he was a big fan of the New York Yankees and relished their many World Series Championships. Joe passed away peacefully on March 18, 2018 with his family around him.Proceeded in death by his father Michael, his mother Francis and sister Mary Gentile. Survived by his wife Ann, brother Frank, sons Michael (wife Jeremy) and William (wife Heather), grandchildren Andrew (Brandi) Minister, Sara (Chris) Hoffman, Paige (Matt) Parkert and Emery Tiesi, along with six great grandchildren (Nicholas, Isabella, Emma, Milo, Grayson and Arwen) and five nieces and two nephews. Funeral Mass: Friday, March 22, 2019 at 11:00am, with visitation one hour prior to the service, all at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church ((16701 S. St.) A Private Burial with military honors, will take place at the Omaha National Cemetery.
