Joseph Lloyd Harper April 2, 1934 – March 27, 2018 Joseph Lloyd Harper was the son of Joseph L. Harper and Gladys M. Otte.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beverly (McKee) Harper whom he met on a blind date, daughter Nancy Williams (Bill Foulk), sons James L Harper (Michaela Connolly Harper) and Thomas J Harper (Colleen Quinn Harper).Joe is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Joseph, Patrick, Samantha, Amanda, William and Claire. He was a proud graduate of Technical High School (class of 1952) and studied at Metro Tech and Omaha University. Joe was born and raised in Omaha and had lived in the Millard area since 1969. He retired after 40 years of working for ConAgra and Armour in the trucking and fleet safety fields. Joe was very involved in the community as a Scout Leader, Youth Group Leader, and Church Council Member. He was politically active and loved Nebraska, being outdoors, hiking, swimming, playing cards, watching Westerns and a great cartoon or two. He was an animal and bird lover and enjoyed the grandkids’ dogs like his own. Joe and Bev shared their love of traveling and Square Dancing. They built a wonderful life together and shared fun family times. Joe adored his wife, children and grandchildren. Visitation: Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 5-7:00pm at Braman Mortuary Southwest Chapel Celebration of Joe’s Life:Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 1:00pm at Braman Mortuary Southwest Chapel Interment:Voss Mohr Cemetery In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family for donations to be determined at a later date.
