John was born in Grand Forks, ND to his parents Charles & Zona Shannahan. He served in the Korean War, did two tours in Vietnam & retired at the rank of Major after 23 years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps. He loved flying and had owned multiple planes over the years. John was preceded in death by his son Morris; He is survived by his Wife of 57 years, Colleen; Special friend Robin Miles and all of John’s fellow coffee drinking flying buddies and computer bums.
