FREELING, John “Jack” age 87 years of Omaha passed away February 18, 2010. John was a USMC WWII Veteran. Member of the U.S. Marine Raider Assoc., U.S. Marine Corps League-Omaha Detachment, Military Order of the Purple Heart Assoc., VFW and American Legion. He was an active participant in the fundraising for the construction of Kearney Catholic High school. Jack worked for Rite-Style Optical Co. in Kearney and Omaha for 40 years. He is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Adeline (Schreck) Freeling and 2nd wife, Dell (Todd) Freeling. Jack is survived by his sons, Richard (Nancy) Freeling, Philip (Anna) Freeling, Lonny (Terri) Todd; daughters, Rita (Don) Weiss, Mary Ann Freeling, Susan (Paul) Muchmore-Phelps, Joan (Terry) Nies, Cecelia (Mark) Wildrick, Lorri Salyards, Jackie (Larry) Anderson, Kyla Robbins; 25 grandchildren & 23 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Eugene “Ole” Hinz, many nieces & nephews. Family receiving friends Wednesday, from 6-8 PM at Braman Mortuary (72nd St. Chapel) with a Purple Heart Memorial Service at 7:00PM. Visitation: Thursday, 6-8PM at St. James Catholic Church in Kearney, NE (3801 Avenue A). Memorial Mass: Friday, 10:30 AM at the church.
