Joey (Joe) Lee Blecha, age 51, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022 in Omaha, Nebraska. Joey is survived by his wife Jessica Johnson Blecha of Omaha, NE and his children Shelby L. Blecha of Austin, TX, Nolan A. Blecha of Camp Lejune, NC, Claire L. Blecha of Omaha, NE and Cole S. Blecha of Omaha, NE; his Mother, Glenda Jo Blecha of Table Rock, NE, and Mother and Father-in-Law, Stephen (Dana) Johnson of Tecumseh, NE; his brother, Lennis L. Blecha, Jr. (Bonnie) of Table Rock, NE, their children Chelci Tucker and Lennis Blecha III; his sister, Cassandra Collum (Brad) of Winterset, IA, and their children Moriah Pietzyk and McKenna Collum; his brothers-in-law Patrick Johnson of Omaha, NE and daughters Dana and Elaina Johnson, and Chris Johnson (Staci) of Camdenton, Missouri, and their children Henry, Sarah, Margaret, and Lillian. He is preceded in death by his father, Lennis L. Blecha, Sr. of Table Rock, NE. Joey was born on April 4th, 1970 in Pawnee City, Nebraska. He grew up in Table Rock, Nebraska where he developed strong roots and graduated from Table Rock high school in 1988.Joey continued his education and passion for athletics at Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska. Joey began work for Quality Homes in Summerfield, Kansas in 1989 followed by AHRS Construction Company in Bern, Kansas until 1993. Soon after connecting with the love of his life and soul mate, he relocated to Omaha, Nebraska where he worked for H&L Construction Company.In 1995, Joey began his lifelong career at Metropolitan Utilities District in Omaha, Nebraska, where he worked construction in the gas/water repair service on numerous crews.In 2008 he transferred within the District to the newly constructed M.U.D. Platte West water plant.There he maintained the plant and wellfield until the time of his sudden death. Joey was a devoted husband, father, and a loyal friend.He loved to laugh and he cherished making memories with his family and friends. This past fall, Joey and Jessica celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. To honor Joey, services will be held on Wednesday, March 30th, 2022 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Omaha, Nebraska (5810 Oak Hills Drive).A Visitation will begin at 9:30am followed by an 11am funeral mass.Interment will be immediately following at Voss-Mohr Cemetery on 143rd and Harrison Street.Joey’s family will host family and friends immediately following the interment at the Thunderhead Brewing Company, 13304 W. Center Road.
