Joanne Hickson of Omaha passed away on May 12th at Bergan Mercy Hospital. Joanne (nee Stewart) was born on February 4, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to Cathryn Wesolowski and Charles Stewart. She graduated from West Leyden High School in Northlake, Illinois and attended Northern Illinois University. While working for Reynolds and Reynolds, she met and married James Hickson in 1996. Joanne started her own catering business, “Just for You”, and catered to many businesses and events in the Omaha area. Jim and Joanne were passionate about animals and worked to rescue animals in need. Joanne loved to cook and entertain, and Jim and Joanne were known for their festive holiday decorations and parties. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, and her mother Cathryn Wesolowski. She is survived by daughter Kim Nordvall (Mike), son Chris Smith (Cari), grandchildren: Jacqueline Nordvall, Allison Nordvall, Lauren Nordvall, and Wyatt Smith.
