SWANSON, Joan L. (Dickinson) September 2, 1928 ~ September 7, 2013 Joan passed away peacefully at her Angel’s Touch residence. She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband Arthur Swanson (former Managing Partner of Arthur Andersen Omaha Office) and her parents Lloyd and Leila Dickinson. Joan’s memory lives on in the hearts of her children David (Jane) Swanson of Batavia, Illinois, Ann (Ken) Rowe and Barbara (Doug) Hurst of Omaha, Nebraska; grandsons Andrew (Jessica) Rowe, Carl (Chantel), Eric and Mark Swanson and Michael Dillon, granddaughters Emily (Brandon) Knickerbocker, Jennifer Dillon, great-granddaughter Joslyn Rowe and Siblings Diane Brown, Sylvia (Frank) O’Connor, Richard Dickinson, Robert (Joanne) Dickinson and Deborah Dickinson as well as nieces, nephews, and friends. Joan was born in Allentown, PA. She was a long time member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, an art and travel enthusiast, copper enamel artist and a volunteer at Joslyn art museum. She resided in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Ohio, New York, Minnesota, Illinois, Denmark, Nebraska and Arizona. A celebration of her life service will be conducted at Braman Mortuary’s Southwest Chapel Location Friday, September 13, 2013 at 4:30PM with family receiving friends from 4 to 4:30PM.
