Joan was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all that knew her. She will be truly missed.
Joan was born in Buffalo, NY. After high school, she met and married Robert Ackley Sr. and had two children. In 1976, the family was relocated to Omaha, Nebraska. Her life-long career was a stay-at-home mom. It wasn’t until the kids were grown and moved out that she went to work at Virtrue Inc. where she worked in the Consumer Affairs Department. She became involved at Christ Community Church as a devoted follower of Jesus and took joy in supporting her family and friends.
Joan was notorious for her handwritten notes that she would mail to her friends and family to let them know she was thinking and praying for them. She loved going to eat with her children at Buffalo Wild Wings and playing trivia with them at the table.
In her last few years of life, she went to live with her son and daughter-in-law. It was her son’s honor to be able to care for her the way that she had cared for him throughout life. Joan knows her Savior, and now she has joined Him as the good and faithful servant she was in this life. Praise the Lord for He has taken home His precious daughter Joan to be with hi for all eternity.
