Jean Kathleen (Hohman) Willburn was born May 29, 1946 in Memphis, TN and passed away on October 6, 2019 in Elkhorn, NE.After moving several times in her youth, she spent her high school years living at Fort Lyon, outside Las Animas, CO.On August 7, 1965, Jean married her high school sweetheart, John William (Bill) Willburn in Colorado Springs, CO. After briefly living in Utah, Jean and Bill moved to Sidney, NE in 1967 where they lived for 50 years and raised 4 children.Jean worked for 35 years at South Elementary School as a teacher’s aide and a secretary.She enjoyed spending her days with the staff and students, always happy to stop and talk with the students when they would see her outside of the school building.Jean was an avid supporter of the Sidney Lady Raiders and the Sidney Red Raiders, attending countless games at home and on the road.Jean was an active member of Light Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Sidney Chapter of P.E.O. Jean is survived by her husband, Bill of Elkhorn, a sister, JoAnne (Gary) Ibsen of Denver, CO, a brother, Russ (and late wife, Carol) Hohman of Warner Robins, GA, and sisters-in-law Peggy Morehead of Blytheville, AR, and Sue Willburn of Ketchikan, AK.She also leaves four children, Kent (Renee) Willburn of Aurora, NE, Beth (Mike) Jones of Cody, NE, Matt (Laurie) Willburn of Elkhorn, NE, and Lisa (Brent) Warwick of Lincoln, NE, 12 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
