Jaunita L. Knobbe

Omaha, NE - Jaunita L. Knobbe, 92, passed away on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025. Jaunita was born in Fremont Nebraska on January 14th, 1933 to Watson and Hazel Hain. Jaunita lived a life full of love, table/card games, cooking, quilting, occasional penny slots, laughter, and cherished moments with family and friends.


Jaunita married Norbert Knobbe on May 11,1953 and enjoyed 57 years together.


Jaunita worked at the Tip Top factory for many years. Later Jaunita retired from her dream job of being a cook at the Nebraska School for the Deaf in 2016 after 16 years of service.


Jaunita was a beloved member of the Omaha deaf community. She brought joy and warmth to everyone who knew her. Her kindness, strength, curiosity and good humor will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to have known her.


She is survived by her six children: Garland Knobbe (Julie), Carol Knobbe, Mitch Knobbe (Dorlita), Lois Stilen (Jerry), Tom Knobbe and Paul Knobbe. She enjoyed 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Jaunita was a pillar of strength for her family, and her legacy of love and generosity will live on through them.


Jaunita was preceded in death by her parents Watson and Hazel Hain, husband Norbert, sister Phyllis, brothers Raymond and Theodore, who helped shape the wonderful person she became. She has now joined them in eternal peace.


Family, friends and those whose lives were touched by Jaunita are invited to say their final goodbyes during visitation at Braman Mortuary (72 St Chapel) in Omaha, NE, on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; including a rosary service at 6:30 p.m.


A funeral service to honor and celebrate Jaunita's life will be held at Braman Mortuary (72 St Chapel) on Thursday, April 24th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Attendees are invited to a 11:30 a.m. luncheon following the service at the Omaha Association for the Deaf (OAD) Hall, 4050 Hillsdale Ave, Omaha. Jaunita Knobbe's gracious presence will be fondly remembered, and her spirit will continue to be a guiding light for her family and friends. She will forever remain in our hearts.
