Janet Fleming (1952-2024) was a woman we will all remember for bringing humor and laughter to any room she entered. Her smile and spirit were contagious, and she loved her family and friends beyond measure. Jannie was born to Norman and Colleen Andersen in Audubon, Iowa. She grew up with three siblings: Vicky, Karen, and Richard. Jannie eventually made her home in Omaha, NE, where she raised two daughters, Natalie and Amanda. She had six grandchildren who all held a special bond with their Gaga. She held several jobs outside of being a mom, including working in photography, cleaning houses, and, lastly, being the voice and go-to gal in the computer industry for Futureware and Geeks. Through her laughter and genuine heart, Jannie made lasting friendships and was an instant friend to anyone who met her. Jannie was a passionate crafter of any sort and an A+ Goodwill shopper. The kids and grandkids were sure to receive items that were “brand new, with the tags.” Jannie eventually married Bruce, whom she considered her prince and she was his princess. They enjoyed collecting things together, and Mom helped with monitoring corn prices over the years, secretly enjoying this task. She married into a family she truly loved. In late 2021, Jannie was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma. She never said no and fought until there was no more fight left in her. She continued to show up for everyone and smiled through her pain and fears. Jannie’s memory will remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her husband Bruce; daughters Natalie (Terry) Sanderson and Amanda (Tracy) Bryan; mother-in-law Jeri Fleming; sisters Vicky Stetzel, Karen (Denny) Hegland; brother Richard (Karen) Andersen; sisters-in-law Connie (Mike) Emanuel and Barbara Gay; brother-in-law Bradley Fleming; grandchildren Tyler, Macie, Madisyn, Bo, and Luke; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Norman; mother Colleen; father-in-law Curtis Fleming; brother-in-law Jim Stetzel and granddaughter Reese Bryan. Celebration of Jannie's Life 3pm., Thursday, December 19, 2024 with a Gathering of Family and Friends from 3:30 to 6pm. All at Braman Mortuary Millard Chapel.
