James T. Wilson, 80, of Omaha, NE, born April 24, 1941, in East Saint Louis, IL, passed away at home Sunday, August 29, 2021. Jim was a member of Alcoholic’s Anonymous (AA) for 52 years. He loved the program and working with all the people who came through the doors. It is impossible to know how many people he helped along the way. A graphic artist by trade, Jim was an avid reader and loved drawing, but most of all he loved fishing. Every time a new grandchild was born, the first thing he would say is, “Papa is gonna take you fishing.” Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Durward M. and Agnes Marie Wilson and his sister Jacqueline Ray. Surviving him are his wife, Donna, daughters, Vicki Burbach (Dale) and Tanya Koller (Tim), Omaha NE, and his son, Yuji Anderson (Kristi), Fairview Heights, IL; sister, Patricia Hunter (Tom), Belleville, IL; eleven grandchildren, Brenna (28), Andrew (24), Christian (22), Caleb (20), Ellie (20), Emma (19), Noelle (15), Elias (13), Marlena (10), Aiden (7), and Tucker (16 mos.); two great-grandchildren, Phoenix (5) and Elijah (3); and nieces and nephews, Lisa Kerhart, Mindy Barfield, Dan Haider, Lois Henley, Tom Hunter, John Hunter and Stacy Hunter. A Funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, September 10, 2021 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 7790 S. 192nd Street, Gretna, NE, 68028. Internment will take place at 1pm on the same date at the Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 S. Schram Road, Omaha, NE, 68138. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
