Phillips, James P.October 8 1933- January 31 2022 Jim Phillips, of Omaha, passed away having suffered complications of Parkinson's Disease. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Gerri, and his sister, Noreen Otto of Menasha, Wisconsin. He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Phillips, Cindy (Merv) Schmidt, Jill (Tim)Wood; grandson Jason Flatowicz, and eight other grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; niece Sharon (Rich)Secor; other nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim was born and raised in Kaukauna, Wisconsin and following high school, proudly served in the USAF. While he was stationed at Offutt AFB, he met Gerri and they married in 1954. Following his military service he worked as a highly skilled tool and die maker at Western Electric until his retirement at 58 years old. Jim enjoyed 30 years of retirement and had many hobbies and interests, greatest of all were his Green Bay Packers, motorcycle trips, and building and flying RC aircraft with the OmaHawks. He also flew in many aviation festivals with Byron Originals throughout the Midwest. Private family inurnment this Spring. Memorials may be made to Asera Care Hospice, Omaha.
