Jack was born on January 14, 1943, his parents Delpho and Palma Caniglia. He grew up in South Omaha near the infamous Rosenblatt Stadium, home of the College World Series and Omaha Royals. He graduated from Omaha South High School in 1962. He met Stella Wilfing at a high school dance at Immaculate Conception Church and were married on July 25, 1964. They have six sons; Jack and Jim were born in South Omaha, Joe, Jerome and Jeff were born in Ralston, and finally upon their move to Millard, Jason was born.
Millard is where the family planted their roots for the next 50 plus years. Jack was an avid softball player, with wheels to burn, known as “Wolfman Jack” to his peers. He also loved to bowl. He was a lifelong New York Yankees fan and has been to New York City multiple times and was there just 45 days before the Towers fell on 9/11. He supported both the Baltimore Colts and later San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. He loved his Huskers and couldn’t wait until September every year.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Stella; children, Jack (Florencia); James, Joseph, Jerome (Lisa), Jeff (Emily), Jason; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
