J Michael Bates (Mike), 61, of Omaha, NE, passed away on January 31, 2020. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mike was born on December 1, 1958 in Omaha, NE, and raised in Atlantic, IA before returning to Omaha. Mike was a Jack of all trades, but was most proud of owning and operating his own remodeling business, Renovations Plus LLC. Where he remodeled high end kitchens and bathrooms. Mike is survived by his Mother, Dorothy Bates, Children, Aaron (Michelle) Bates and Randalynn (Damar) Gibbs, Sister, Sherri Bates Schlueter, Brother, Jeff (Susan) Bates, Grandchildren, Jaidyn(9), Jace(7), and Avery(1). As well as a number of nieces and nephews, other family, friends, and his beloved Golden Retriever, Husker. Mike is preceded in death by his Father, Lawrence Maxwell Bates, and his long time partner, Vickie Redmond.
