Homer Allen Karre

KARRE, Homer A. March 12, 1917 - March 11, 2010 Homer died peacefully at Papillion Manor one day before his 93rd birthday. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Laurice, parents Diedrich and Minnie, and brothers Wilson and Carroll. He is survived by his children, Judy and Art Falk, Pat Tompsett, Dick and Jill Karre, Nelson and Nancy Karre, Betsy Vanderkolk, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and his good friend Marge. After retiring from the Railway Postal Service and as Deputy Clerk of District Court, he spent many years volunteering his services with the Douglas County Extension Service, AARP Tax Help for the Elderly, Volunteers Intervening for Equity, and was a member and usher at St. Paul Methodist Church in Omaha for over 50 years. He was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 1995. Dad was a master Gardener and known for his amazing gardens and flowers. He and Laurice loved to travel, visiting many places around the world, and making friends in all of them. He treasured his family and fully appreciated his very long and eventful life.
