CUSTER, Grace A. 4/18/1930 – 7/10/2019 Age 89 years of Omaha Grace was born on April 18, 1930, in Stratton, Colorado, to William and Mary Lamborn, one of eight children. They moved to a farm in Blue Hill, Nebraska, shortly after she was born. She was raised there and attended a one room school house, which she talked about often. Most of her classmates were her siblings. On January 12, 1948 Grace married Marvin Custer and they moved to Omaha. They were blessed with two daughters, Debi in 1955, and Linda in 1960. Grace was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, active in circle and childcare through the years. She was a brownie and girl scout leader and a room mother for many years. She was also a member of Mother’s Club through Nebraska Children’s Home, a long standing member of Women’s Club, and a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years. Grace worked for Westside Community Schools in food service. She started at Swanson Elementary in 1967, then transferred to Arbor Heights, now known as Westside Middle School. She retired from there in 1991. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, three sisters, four brothers, and other family and friends. Survivors include daughter Debi Lees & husband Larry, daughter Linda Swyers and husband John of Milwaukie, Oregon. Grandchildren: Jenny (Dean) Wessels, Jason (Leslie) Sharp, Sharon Lees, Jeff (Lori) Pyles, Carrie (Matt) Severa, Kristina Brightman, and Katie (Steven) Rogers. 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
