Gloria Vivian (Meade) Burns has went to be with the Lord and husband, August 23, 2014 after losing her fight with her illnesses. Born, July 14, 1935 in Fremont, NE to Leo L. and Doris (Hayworth) Mead. In 1952 at the age of 16 Gloria accepted the Lord as her Savior at the CMA Church in Fremont Nebraska. Gloria graduated from Fremont High School in 1953 and attended Grace Bible College in Omaha between 1953-1954. She married Calvin P. Burns of Waterloo, NE March 5, 1955 in Council Bluffs, IA at the First Baptist Church. Worked for several years at the Fremont Telephone Company and later at JC Penny. In 1974 the family moved to Omaha so her husband could be closer to his work. She enjoyed her yard and gardening and was a member of the Todd Valley Federated Garden Club for over 30 years. Preceded in death by: husband, Calvin P. Burns; parents, Leo & Doris Mead of Omaha; brother, Gary Meade of Langhorne PA. Survived by sister, Deborah Schaap of Omaha; brother, James Meade of Prescott AZ; daughter, Teri L Bollacker (Jim) of Springfield NE; son, Curtis Burns (Barbara) of Pueblo CO; grandchildren, Shawn, Nicole, A.J Bollacker of Springfield NE and Gabriel Burns of Cheyenne WY; also many other nieces and nephews.
