Glenda R. Stricklett
July 8, 1954 ~ January 23, 2025
Glenda was born in Fort Collins, CO, the first child of James and Detta Rae Albin. She was preceded in death by both parents, sister Jeanne Albin, and husband Leroy Stricklett. She is survived by two brothers, Jerry Albin and Bill Alin, and two children, Kaitlyn Keelan and Amanda Ford.
She was a career hairstylist, working at salons as well as styling wigs for the Omaha Community Playhouse. A truly hard working person, outside of her job, she found joy in other forms of work-- construction projects around the house, gardening, jewelry making, craft projects, and cooking or baking. When in need of a more relaxing pursuit, she turned to reading. She was a voracious reader, always having a book nearby.
The legacy she leaves in this world is intangible. It is the memory of her going the extra mile to help the people in her life. It is the compassion she showed so many strays who wandered up to her door throughout the years. It is the brightness she brought to conversations and it was her innate way of filling a space with stories and humor. It is the care she took of her husband, demonstrating a level of devotion that most of us are never asked to show. It is the sheer volume of memories her community will cherish for decades to come.
She will truly be missed.
