George Kenney passed away peacefully in the presence of his wife and family.He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.Born in Crete, NE, he graduated from Dorchester High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.George served as a U.S. Navy Signalman in World War II.After a 36 year career with Northern Natural Gas Co., he retired in 1986.He enjoyed activities including sports & travel with family. George is survived by his wife, Betty (Ziettlow); Daughter, Sue (Dee) Rosekrans, Liberty, MO; Sons, Scott (Patti), St. Louis, MO, Tim (Lynn), West Des Moines, IA; Grandchildren: Kathleen, Emily, Josh, Sara (James), Jack & Mary; Sisters, Lillian Gardenhire, Union City, CA, Margaret Sheperd, Oakland, CA. & many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff at the Louisville Care Community for their kind and compassionate care during George’s final days. Memorial Mass: Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM , with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service, all at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church (16701 S. St.) Memorials may be directed to the Child Saving Institute or Sienna/Francis House.
