Gayle Kay (York) Roberts May 1, 1946 – June 21, 2019 Gayle Kay (York) Roberts passed away June 21, 2019, leaving behind Howell, her devoted husband of 47 years and constant companion. She also leaves many family members, friends and golf buddies whom Gayle loved so much. Born in Boonville, MO, she moved to Fremont, NE in 1957, graduating from Fremont Sr. High in 1964.She was a long-time Omaha resident, worked as a draftsman for the Dept. of Roads for many years, and retired from Elliott and Assoc. of Omaha. Gayle and Howell played golf every day that they could as long-time members of the Sunset Valley Golf Club. She was a talented artist and loved working with miniatures andart that required small details. As an accomplished quilt-maker she designed a new quilt for each baby born to the family. Her creativity was extraordinary andawe-inspiring. Gayle shared her love with all animals. Cats, dogs and many adopted squirrels will miss Gayle just as much as the humans. Preceded in death by her parents, W. Earl and Eunice York of Fremont, siblings Lowell York and Lisa (York) Neal, sisters-in-law Robyn (Ball) York and Mary Ellen (Walker) York and step-daughter Julie Roberts. She leaves behind her brothers Dwight York of St. Cloud, MN;Dr. Eric York and wife Victoria of Silver City, NM; sister Kristy Broadstone of Omaha and brother-in-law Ron Neal of Houston. Gayle also leaves ten nieces and nephews and their families, who all loved her dearly-Erin & Ben Cornwell (Marlowe,) Chris & Trish York (Finn & Otto,) Rafe York, Addie & Jeff Rysavy (Lola & Sam,) Zane & Kelly York (Axel,) Josh & Meredith York (Dillon & Lily,) Jessica York, Chelsea & Joseph Dolton (Guy, Quinn, Stella & Leo,) Ryan Broadstone (Chrissy & Lawson Pashia) and Chandris & Shane Zoucha (Xavier & Atienne.) Also surviving are Howell’s sister Ruth Kerstine and Howell’s children Sherri (Ron) Anderson, Karen Epp and Scott (Kim) Roberts. Gayle was also blessed with a step-niece and nephewand many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren from Howell’s family. A life well lived. One last strong approach to the Green.
