Gary James Forman died peacefully Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at the Josie Harper Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born January 10, 1952, the son of Frank and Mary Jane (Welna) Forman, in Omaha, Nebraska. Gary graduated from Bishop Ryan High School in 1970 and attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He then began his long career with the Nebraska Department of Transportation in 1972 where he was most recently District Operations Center Manager, District 2. In 1985 Gary was united in marriage to Marlyss (Woita) Moeller. Together they made their home in Omaha. Gary was a member of Elks Lodge #39 in Omaha. Because of his caring and selfless nature, his handyman skills, and his love of yard work, Gary was always willing to lend a hand to family members, neighbors, and co-workers. Survivors include his wife, Marlyss; two daughters, Tracy Forman and Elizabeth (Tom) Erven; stepson, Kyle (Kim) Moeller; five grandchildren, Thomas J. Erven, Gannon, Hudson, Brody and Wren Moeller; siblings Ron (Margaret) Forman of Byron, MN, Tom (Lenanne) Forman of Omaha, Janet (Dan) Lee of Bellevue, Cindy Forman of Omaha, Kevin (Sally) Forman of Mesa, AZ, and Jeanne Rich of Omaha; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Finn Moeller, nephew Scott Forman, and sister-in-law Debbie Forman. Gathering of Family and Friends: Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 from 5:30-7:30pm at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel). Celebration of Gary’s Life: Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at 10:30am at Citylight Church (West Location, 3401 Oak View Dr.) In lieu of flowers, memorials given to the family will be used in Gary’s memory at a later date.
