Gail Elizabeth (Cyr) Wolf was born June 25, 1975 to Gail and Pauline (Swihart) Cyr in Concordia, Kansas. Gail was the youngest of five children. She was raised on a farm near St. Joseph, Kansas. She graduated from Clifton-Clyde High School in 1993. She earned an associates degree from Cloud County Community College in 1995. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Baker University. How Jess and Gail found each other is a true love story. Jess graduated high school in Nebraska. After a knee injury ended his college football career, his path led him to Cloud County Community College. It was fate from the moment Gail asked Jess to dance and the rest is history. They wed on July 15th, 1995 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. To this union two children were born, a daughter, Elizabeth Roze and a son, Alex Frank. Gail and Jess lived in Concordia, KS until 2000. They then moved to Lincoln, NE for two years before settling their family in Omaha, NE. Gail worked for Holmes Murphy where she was an Assistant Vice President-Operations. Gail’s life revolved around her children’s activities. She spent many hours running between practices and was always willing to take Elizabeth’s teammates (she thought of them like her own daughters) to tournaments with her. She loved watching Alex participate in taekwondo, baseball, and football. She was his biggest fan and always supported him. Gail didn’t have very much free time, but she always made time for her family and their family events. Family meant everything to her, blood did not define family for her. The party didn’t start until she arrived. She will always be known for her humor, dancing, and singing everything that popped in her head, no matter where she was. Gail was a very giving person and very involved in charity work. She volunteered at the Open Door Mission in Omaha for many years. She also raised money for the Willis Foundation for Women’s Center for Advancement. For several years she had a big part in running the Kathy Tinley Payne Memorial golf tournament, with the last three years benefiting the Carl Washington Youth Recreational Center. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church where she served her parish as a lector and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. Gail is survived by her husband, Jess of Omaha; her daughter Elizabeth and son Alex of the home; her sister Terry Chartier (Brett) of Ottawa, KS; her brothers Charles Cyr (Denise) and Todd Cyr (Faye) of Clyde, KS; her brother-in-law Dave Wedel, Lyons, KS; her mother and father-in-law Frank and Mary Jo Wolf of Wahoo, NE; Grandmother Kay Wagner of Wahoo, NE; her brother-in-law Chris Wolf of Lincoln, NE; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces.
