Loraine was born in rural Farragut, Iowa on February 17, 1924. Loraine was preceded in death by her parents George “Dewey” and Grace (McClure) Gee, and sister, MaryBelle (Gee) Quine. Loraine is survived by niece Jane (Quine) Axtell, husband Steve; nephew Jeff Quine, wife Nan-cy, great-nieces Lauren and Dana Howerter, great nephews Bret and Cody Quine along with many friends.
After spending a year at Iowa State University, Loraine completed her nurses training at St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota in 1945. Loraine then became a sister at the Sisters of St. Francis Convent of Dubuque Iowa. Loraine worked as a nurse in Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska. She became a nursing supervisor during the last portion of her nursing career. Loraine loved her friends like family.
FUNERAL MASS: Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 10:00am, with visitation one hour prior to the service, all at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church (8200 N. 30 St.)
