GILBERT, Frederick C. age 93 years of Omaha, passed away August 25, 2010. Fred was born in Beatrice, NE and later attended the University of Nebraska and received his Doctor of Law degree in 1942. He has been a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association for more than 68 years. Fred played the trumpet, placed superior in a National Competition at UNL and worked his way through the University playing in dance bands. He was a member of the Masons, American Legion and an avid Nebraska football fan. Fred was a Deacon and Elder with Mount View Presbyterian Church. He is preceded in death by his brother, George Gilbert; sister, Katherine Mobley. Fred is survived by his wife, Warda Mae Gilbert; daughter, Barbara (Jim) Selzer; brother, Louis (Geri) Gilbert; granddaughters, Laura, Jennifer & Michelle; great-grandchildren, Zane, Jack, Norah, James, Liana & Corbin. Funeral Service, Monday, 11:00am at Mount View Presbyterian Church (5308 Hartman Ave.) with a luncheon to follow at the church Graveside service, 3:00 PM at Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice, NE Memorials can be directed to the church.
