Franklin D. Merchant, age 75, passed away March 19, 2022 in Omaha, NE. Frank was born to John and Anna Merchant in Sioux City, IA on January 29, 1947. He enjoyed Husker and Hawkeye football, spending time with family, models, trains, airplanes, all things military, and of course his sweet loving dog, Bebe. You could find him in the kitchen baking cookies or brownies for family and friends. He was always a story teller of his days in the military and his travels. Frank was a veteran of the US Army, retired MAT bus driver, and retired Greyhound bus driver. Frank is preceded in death by his loving wife, Rena; parents, John and Anna; brothers, Douglas, Eugene, Carl, and Chuck; sisters Clara and Mary. He leaves behind his siblings, John, Kelly and Bob Merchant; children, Shelley (Greg) Shafer, Brian Merchant and Dennis Merchant; Grandchildren, Nate, Emily, Blayne, Hope, Nicholas, Jared, Brendan and Hali. Gathering of Family and Friends: Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 1:30-3:30pm at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel) in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Frank’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
